Coach Pearson believes that basketball gives an extension to life skills like communication, perseverance, strength, endurance, team work, and self-discipline.

When a couple of the players, Robert Inguiez and Damien Johnson, from the Wheatland Mules Basketball team were interviewed, they were very enthusiastic that the new year’s season was here. Inguiez and Johnson were happy that they got to shed some light into their perspectives of how basketball should be treated and how intense it may be for some of the players. Then we will also get some insight from our fellow coaches on what it has done for the young gentlemen that will be playing.

“I believe it has affected me in a multitude of ways such as it has improved my skill, self discipline, working out, improved my stamina, and attitude.” said Robert Inguiez regarding basketball season thus far. Inguiez goes on to say, “The basketball team is doing a great job and we’re going to have many opportunities to improve upon our set of skills that will help us further in our journey to beating most of the teams this season.”

The coaches are putting in the effort to help the team improve on their personal skill and team play. The Wheatland boys team is learning what they can from the coaches this season. The team as a whole works on their own individual training to improve themselves as a whole.

Coach Pearson and Coach Morlan believe they should focus on communication and their shooting development. The intensity of their practices have shown through all of the players in how they play the game. Now they’re slowly talking to one another and improving their own play style.

The team members interviewed had this to say about which team would be a challenge, and who may not present a challenge. “Fair Play or Climax would be the easiest to beat in a game, Then Weaubleau or Halfway would be the hardest to beat.”

We wish this year’s basketball team the best, and we hope they will not leave the courts upset, only fulfilled with what they have accomplished!
