Homecoming Night at Wheatland High School will be on Friday, February 2nd when the Mules and Lady Mules take on the Macks Creek Pirates. The Lady Mules (14-7) will take on the state ranked Lady Pirates (17-3) for the third time this season at 5:30 to tip off the night.
The Lady Pirates won the first matchup of the season, but the Lady Mules got the best of Macks Creek in a nailbiter last week in the Osceola Tournament. After the girls game, the Mules (15-7) will take on the Pirates (4-14) for the second time this season. The Mules won the first matchup. After the games, coronation will begin.
Homecoming is an important event for Wheatland students. “It is a unique week full of fun-filled activities and experiences for everyone in the building to experience,” said senior Caleb Goodloe, former Homecoming King. “It’s definitely something I look forward to every year.” Homecoming week is filled with different spirit days at school, including crazy socks day and matching day. The day of homecoming will consist of a ton of different activities for the students at Wheatland, like making posters and floats.
The week will get capped off on Saturday night at 7:30, when Wheatland will host a Homecoming dance. It will last two hours. “I am looking forward to hanging out with friends at the dance,” said Goodloe. Wheatland did not have a Homecoming dance last year, so this is an exciting addition to the week for the students. Caleb said, “It’s a really fun week, and will definitely be one of my favorite memories from senior year.” Homecoming week at Wheatland High School is here, and it should be a fun one.
