The Wheatland Mules baseball team is currently sitting at 20-8 with 5 games left in the regular season. Starting on May 13th, the Mules will be competing in the Class 1 District 7 tournament at Lakeland High School in Deepwater, MO. The Mules got the number 1 seed in the tournament and will get a first round bye. On May 13th, the Mules will play the winner of Montrose vs Humansville. Montrose is the number 4 seed, while Humansville is the 5th seed. Lakeland is the 2nd seed, and will play the winner of #3 Appleton City vs #6 Northeast Vernon County.

The Mules have gone 3-0 in District play this season, beating Lakeland 11-0, Humansville 16-5, and Appleton City 9-1. They still have two district games remaining in the regular season, facing Humansville on May 6th and Montrose on May 8th. Lakeland is currently sitting at 12-10 on the season. Appleton City has a 7-10 record, Montrose a 6-7 record, Humansville a 6-11 record, and Northeast Vernon County a 1-8 record.

The Mules first district game will be on Monday, May 13th at 6:00 PM at Lakeland High School. If they win that, they would compete in the district championship on Tuesday, May 14th at 5:00 PM. The Mules have had an impressive season, and will look to continue that into the postseason. After an early exit in last year’s district tournament, the Mules are extremely motivated to make a run this season.
